Incipient Industrial Fire Brigade Member

   

This course is based on NFPA 1081: Standard for Industrial Fire Brigade Member Professional Qualifications and may lead to Pro Board certification. It is designed for the person who seeks the knowledge and skills to function as a member of an organized industrial fire brigade providing services at a specific facility or site. This level is specifically designed for individuals that will be fighting fire inside or outside of an enclosed structure or building when the fire has not progressed beyond incipient stage. Campus Delivery Only. (Classes that are delivered either at the Alabama Fire College or an RTC or other area as approved by the Regional Coordinator and Training Staff at AFC.) (This course does not meet the NFPA 1001: Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications)

Pre-Requisites

  • Hazardous Materials Awareness
  • A candidate must be physically able to perform the tasks associated with fire brigade training.
  • The minimum age requirement is 18 years.
  • Prior to certification, the candidate shall meet the general knowledge, skill, performance and additional requirement as set out in Chapter 4 of NFPA 472.
