5th Annual NFA State Weekend
August 19th-20th, 2017

You are invited to join the Alabama Fire College as we participate in the National Fire Academy State Weekend Program on August 19th-20th, 2017. Each participant will be responsible for their own travel arrangements. Lodging and courses are provided by the NFA at no extra cost.

The deadline to register is Monday, July 20th, 2017. No late registrations will be accepted. Only emergency substitutions will be accepted. No fees will be refunded after the registration deadline. Registration form must be filled out entirely, including your first, second and third choices for classes, and signed by your department chief. You MUST obtain a Student ID # from the NFA at and follow the directions listed there.
TRAVEL: If you travel by train or air, you must meet at a pre-arranged pick-up site at Reagan International Airport. You must arrive at the pick up point no later than 3pm on Friday, August 20th, 2017. NFA will only provide transportation from Washington, DC, from one pick-up and drop-off point. If you choose not to travel from  Washington and back via the transportation provided, you will have to provide your own transportation to and from the NFA campus. If you fly, make sure you arrive at Reagan International Airport no later than 2pm EST on Friday, August 20th, 2017, so that you have time to make the 3pm pick-up time for transportation to the NFA. On return flights, due to travel time from the NFA and airport check-in, do not book a flight departure time before 7pm on Sunday, August 20th, 2017. If you travel by train, you just arrange transportation to the pick-up site at Reagan International Airport. You must be there no later than 3pm on Friday, August 20th, 2017 and back to Union Station by 5:30pm on Sunday. If you provide your own transportation to the NFA campus in Emmitsburg, Maryland, you must check-in at Registration in the C Building no later than 6pm, Friday, August 20th, 2017.

LODGING: Two nights lodging at NFA (single room for each participant). A few rooms for married couples are available. Please notify the Fire College if you would like a double room.

MEAL PLAN: The mandatory meal plan fee of $80 includes six meals (one meal Friday evening, three meals on Saturday and two meals on Sunday) and one t-shirt.

DRESS CODE: The wearing of athletic clothing, including ball caps or hats of any kind, is not appropriate in the classrooms, dining hall, or auditorium. Attire such as shorts, sandals, tank tops, ventilated shirts, collar-less shirts, and cut-off jeans are considered informal wear and should be restricted to  after-hour leisure activities), slacks, nice jeans (no holes), or department uniforms, shoes and socks. Optional items  include sweaters and jackets, etc. Females: Dresses, blouses (no t-shirts) with slacks or skirts or department uniforms,  hosiery and shoes.
